History of the Chair

01.10.2005 - 30.09.2008  European Commission - financed period of the Chair

  The EU Marie Curie Chair was applied in the 2004 Call for Marie Curie Excellence and Recognition Actions:
  http://cordis.europa.eu/mariecurie-actions/exc/home.html.
  The approved proposal included the perspective for duration of the Chair beyond the EC-supported period.

01.10.2008 - 30.09.2013  Prolongation of the EU Marie Curie Chair as a University Chair co-financed by FCT/UÉ

  The University Chair was proclaimed to the public by the President of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT),
  Prof. João Sentieiro, the 23rd of October in presence of a representative from the European Commission and the
  Vice-Rector during that time at the UÉ, Ana Maria Costa Freitas:

  The Chair was the first externally financed Chair at the University of Évora (UÉ). No statute existed at the time
  of the Chair's foundation and prolongation for externally financed Chairs.
  A statute for externally financed Chairs was established at the UÉ only the 20th of October 2008.
