Animal feed certification instrument and procedure to guarantee the quality of meat and dairy products through automatic, simple and rapid DNA barcode method based on tubulin-based polymorphism (TBP).
Three members of the Chair will participate in the international Consortium. The principal coordinator is Diego Breviario from Italy (IBBA-CNR Milan).
Hélia Cardoso will coordinate our part at the UÉ and presented it in Brussels during negotiation. Diego Breviario was invited once as speaker to the AOX Symposium in 2008, is co-author of an article with first authorship of Alexandre Ferreira (Ferreira et al. 2009). Alexandre established the TBP methodology at the Chair for comparison with our main gene candidate marker AOX. Thus, Alexandre Ferreira was through his activities the main driver in our group for this new development in applied plant science. The group will enter by this project in contact with several international companies from several countries. AOX will be used as a standard marker reference. Birgit Arnholdt-Schmitt is the third member in the project.
