Susanne Gregor from INOQ company (dedicated to the production of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal inoculum) in Germany has done a 2 months stay in our lab . She has been trained in common molecular biology techniques for gene isolation (AOX) and molecular identification of mycorrhizal fungi (LSU-SSU). This formation will contribute to the development of the newly established Laboratory of Molecular Biology at INOQ in the frame of the IAPP Project with the EU Marie Curie Chair. It was an enjoyable and productive stay! For more on this exchange, see here .
Dr. Sakai Takako (photo, right) and Dr. Taro Takagi (left) from the seed company Mikado Kyowa Seed (Japan) visited the EU Marie Curie Chair in January 2013 to discuss new research approaches and projects. The company belongs to the Limagrain Cooperative that has its central site in Paris, France. A workshop was organized.

A new Marie Curie Fellow will enter as a new member into the team of the EU Marie Curie Chair. Dr. Tânia Nobre won a Marie Curie Career Integration Grant (FP7-PEOPLE-2012-CIG). She is a Portuguese scientist who earned merits abroad. She once received a Marie Curie fellowship to work at the University of Wageningen, The Netherlands, and takes now the offered opportunity to develop her research interests with a new focus linked to the competences at the EU Marie Curie Chair. The Chair runs since 2005 at the University Évora. By this action, the experienced senior scientist will return back to her home country and region in Portugal. The title of her research project is 'Understanding Symbiotic Diversity: a candidate gene approach '.
INOQ is the industrial partner of the EU Marie Curie Chair in the 'Industry - Academia Partnerships and Pathways' (IAPP) project, which runs under coordination of the Chair. The scientist will gain new experiences at the company and progress research of the project. Her stay in Germany lasts 8 months during 2012. It is her second Marie Curie Fellowship. Hélia Cardoso integrated at the EU Marie Curie Chair since 2006 and was awarded through her achievements as FCT scientist.
